What the LinkHarbor app does: follow pages, get push notifications, catch up on updates and discover new pages – and what is only on the web.
The LinkHarbor app is made for everyone who wants to follow pages: fans, regular customers, readers. In the app you subscribe to pages, get push notifications when there is something new, and find new pages. You build and manage your own pages in the web dashboard instead.
Devices
- iPhone
- iOS 15 or later. There is no separate iPad version.
- Android
- On phones and tablets. On large screens and unfolded foldables, the app shows two columns in landscape: the list on the left, the open page on the right.
To use the app you need a free LinkHarbor account. You can create it right in the app or sign in with an existing account, see Your account in the app.
The four sections
At the bottom of the app you switch between four sections:
- “Subscriptions”
- “My subscriptions” lists all pages you follow, with the number of new messages. “Search subscriptions” finds a page by title or handle. You turn push on or off per page with the bell. Swipe a page to the left to end the subscription.
- “Updates”
- All push notifications from the pages you follow, grouped by day, newest first. Here you also find messages you already swiped away on your phone, and messages from pages whose push you have muted.
- “Discover”
- Search for public pages by name or handle, from 2 characters. “Subscribe” follows a page straight from the results.
- “Settings”
- Your account, push notifications, language, logging out, legal information, support and deleting your account.
At the top right you switch between light and dark mode.
Opening pages in the app
When you tap a page, the app opens it directly – with a follow bar that shows how many subscribers the page has. Links on the page open as usual.
If the app is installed and you are signed in, links to pages under linkharbor.com open straight in the app, for example from a message or a bio. If you tap such a link before you are signed in, the app opens the page after you sign in.
- This applies to addresses like linkharbor.com/handle
- Pages on custom domains open in the browser, not in the app
- The linkharbor.com home page itself opens the website
Which pages you can find
Under “Discover” you only see pages that are published and public and whose owner has left the “Listed in public search” switch on. You won't find private and password-protected pages, and you can't follow them. A page that doesn't show up in search can still be reached at its address.
What is only on the web
The app has no features for creators: creating, editing and publishing pages, viewing statistics and sending push notifications only work in the web dashboard at deck.linkharbor.com. In the app's settings, “Create your own page” takes you there. How to get started is explained in Create an account.
Help and legal in the app
Under “Settings” → “Legal & help” you find “Privacy policy”, “Terms of service”, “Imprint”, “Support” and “Report content”. Each entry opens the page in the browser. How reports are handled is explained in Reporting content and suspension.
