Cancelling, downgrading and failed payments

Updated 1 November 2026 4 min read

Cancel or downgrade your subscription: what is switched off when you move to a smaller plan and what happens when a payment fails.

You can cancel your subscription or move to a smaller plan at any time. Nothing is deleted: whatever goes beyond the new plan is switched off, and most of it comes back if you upgrade again later. Owners and admins can cancel and switch plans.

Cancelling or switching plans

  1. Open “Upgrade plan” in the menu
  2. Click “Downgrade to …” on the plan you want, or “Go to customer portal →”
  3. Confirm the prompt “Downgrade to …?”
  4. In the Stripe customer portal, switch plans or cancel the subscription
Switching to a smaller plan
For example from Creator Agency to Creator Pro. The new plan and its limits apply immediately.
Cancellation
Your paid plan continues until the end of the paid period. After that the workspace switches to Creator Free, and you receive an e-mail.

What happens when you downgrade

As soon as the smaller plan applies, LinkHarbor adjusts your workspace to the new limits. If anything is switched off in the process, you receive an e-mail with an overview (removed members are not listed in it).

AreaWhat happensComes back on upgrade

If a payment fails

If Stripe can't charge a renewal, a grace period of 7 days begins. During this time everything keeps working. At the top of the dashboard a “Payment failed” notice shows the remaining days; owners and admins go straight to the Stripe customer portal from there with “Update payment method”.

  1. Update your payment method in the Stripe customer portal via “Manage subscription & invoices →”
  2. 2 days before the grace period ends, you receive a reminder by e-mail
  3. If the payment hasn't been made by the end of the period, the workspace is suspended and you receive another e-mail

As soon as a payment succeeds, LinkHarbor lifts the grace period or suspension automatically, and you receive a confirmation by e-mail. If the very first payment fails, the plan never becomes active, and there is no grace period.

Delete your account instead of the subscription?

Cancelling only ends the subscription; your account and your pages stay on Creator Free. If you want to leave LinkHarbor completely, see Delete your account.
