Connect Claude, ChatGPT or other AI assistants to LinkHarbor via MCP and let them read and edit pages and analyse statistics.
You can connect an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT directly to your LinkHarbor account. After that, one sentence in the chat is enough – for example “Add a link to my new shop to my page and show me a preview” – and the assistant does the work in your workspace. This article explains how this works technically, what the assistant can and cannot do, and which plans it applies to.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants work with external services. LinkHarbor runs its own MCP server for this. Through it, your assistant gets a fixed list of tools – for example “List pages”, “Add link” or “Publish page” – and calls them when you ask it to.
- Server URL
- https://dock.at-harbor.com/mcp – this is the address you enter in your assistant.
- Sign-in
- The assistant signs in with OAuth. You sign in to LinkHarbor as usual and approve what it may do on a consent page. The assistant never gets to see your password or your API keys.
- One workspace per connection
- Each connection applies to exactly one workspace, which you choose when you give consent. For a second workspace, you connect the assistant once more.
- Permissions
- You decide per connection which permissions the assistant gets. It can never do more than your own role in the workspace allows.
What your assistant can do
- List all pages of the workspace and read a page in full: draft, design, blocks, links and SEO texts
- Create, change, reorder and delete links – including scheduling, country and device rules
- Add, edit, reorder and remove blocks
- Change the template, colours, font, button style, background and custom CSS in the draft
- Adjust a page's SEO and sharing texts
- Create a preview link to the draft that is valid for 10 minutes
- Publish the draft or bring an earlier version back into the draft
- Change a page's visibility (public, private, password)
- Fetch statistics for a page or the whole workspace
- Read forms and the latest submissions
- Create a new, unpublished page
All 25 tools and the permissions they need are listed in All AI tools at a glance.
What deliberately does not work
Some actions are intentionally not possible through the assistant, because they are hard to undo or affect your account and billing:
- Deleting pages
- Changing a page's handle – shared links and QR codes would otherwise lead nowhere
- Uploading images or files (including a share image for the SEO preview)
- Managing members, roles, billing, API keys, domains and workspace settings
- Editing forms, managing short links, webhooks, integrations and push notifications
You keep doing these things in the dashboard.
Draft first, then live
Almost all changes land in your page's draft first – just like in the Page Builder. Visitors see none of it until the page is published. The assistant is instructed to offer you a preview link beforehand and to ask before publishing.
If something goes wrong, the assistant brings a published version back into the draft or discards all draft changes since the last publish. More in Publishing and versions.
Which plans?
You can connect AI assistants on every plan, including Creator Free. The same limits apply as in the dashboard, though – for example, the assistant cannot create a second page if your plan only allows one.
| Creator Free | Creator Pro | Creator Agency | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Connection via MCP | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Statistics tools | No | Yes | Yes |
The two statistics tools use the advanced statistics included from Creator Pro. On Creator Free, they therefore reply with a note about the plan. How many pages, links and blocks your plan allows and which templates it unlocks is explained in Plans compared. Enterprise is available on request.
